Intel, ABD merkezli, dünyanın en büyük mikroişlemci üreten şirketi ve en bilinen mikroişlemci markası. Şirket, 1968 yılında Gordon E. Moore tarafından kurulmuştur.
İlk olarak 1971 yılında Intel 4004 mikroişlemcisiyle piyasaya çıkmıştır. Günümüzde, bilgisayarların %90'ında İntel işlemcilerinin kullanılması, önceden sadece bilgisayar üreticilerinin bildiği mikroişlemci markasını, kullanıcılara da öğreten İntel inside (İçeride İntel) reklam kampanyası sayesinde olmuştur. Şirketin piyasa değeri 150 milyar dolar olarak tahmin edilmektedir.
İntel, AMD'nin 1995 yılından sonraki sürecinden olumsuz etkilenmiş. Piyasadaki hakim işlemci olma özelliğini yitirmiştir. 1995 yılından sonra AMD'nin araştırma geliştirme etkinliklerine ağırlık vermesiyle masaüstü bilgisayarlarda kullanılmak üzere ilk olarak 64 bit işlemcileri piyasaya sürmüştür.

Advanced Micro Devices şirketi, kısaca AMD, merkezi Austin, Teksas, ABD olan mikroçip üreten bir şirkettir. Genel olarak kişisel bilgisayarlar için ürettiği işlemcileri ile bilinir. Ayrıca 2006 yazında ATI'yi satın alması ile grafik (çizge) işlemcileri üretme kapasitesine de ulaşmıştır. Ana işlemci üretim fabrikaları Fab30 ve Fab36 Dresden, Almanya'dadır. Ayrıca Çin'de açılacak Ar-Ge Merkezi'nin inşaatı sürmektedir.

Kuruluşu
Kuruluşu 1 Mayıs 1969'dur. Kuruluşundan 1995'e kadar Intel işlemcilerin taklitlerini üreten şirket bu tarihten sonra Ar-Ge çalışmalarını arttırıp rakibi Intel şirketine yetişmiştir. 1999'da rakibi Intel şirketinden önce 1 GHz bariyerini aşan AMD, 2003 yılında masaüstü sistemler için 64 bit işlemci üreten ilk şirket olmuştur. Yapmakta olduğu yatırımlarla işlemci pazarında pazar payını büyütmektedir. Özellikle masaüstü bilgisayarlar için ürettiği işlemciler son derece büyük rağbet görmektedir. Genel olarak matematiksel işlemler ve grafik (çizge) işlemleri üzerinde yetenekli olan işlemcileri en son AMD Turion 64 serisi ile dizüstü bilgisayarlara da girmeye başlamıştır.
Tarihçe
AMD 1 Mayıs 1969'da Farichild Semiconductor şirketinden ayrılan bir takım tarafından kurulmuştur. Kurucusu ve ilk genel müdürü Jerry Sanders'tir. 2005 itibariyle şireketin yönetim kurulu başkanı Dr. Hector Ruiz'dir. 2006 yazında satın aldığı ATI, şirketin gücünü ve pazarını da genişletmiştir. Şirket, AMD adıyla ürettiği Sempron, Athlon64, AthlonXp, Athlon, Turion, Turion64 X2, Athlon 64 Fx, Athlon64 X2, Opteron, Phenom X4 Phenom II X4 ve Duron işlemcileri ve ATi adıyla ürettiği [Radeon] grafik çipleri (çizge yongaları) ile ünlüdür.

Advanced Micro Devices şirketi, kısaca AMD, merkezi Austin, Teksas, ABD olan mikroçip üreten bir şirkettir. Genel olarak kişisel bilgisayarlar için ürettiği işlemcileri ile bilinir. Ayrıca 2006 yazında ATI'yi satın alması ile grafik (çizge) işlemcileri üretme kapasitesine de ulaşmıştır. Ana işlemci üretim fabrikaları Fab30 ve Fab36 Dresden, Almanya'dadır. Ayrıca Çin'de açılacak Ar-Ge Merkezi'nin inşaatı sürmektedir.

Kuruluşu
Kuruluşu 1 Mayıs 1969'dur. Kuruluşundan 1995'e kadar Intel işlemcilerin taklitlerini üreten şirket bu tarihten sonra Ar-Ge çalışmalarını arttırıp rakibi Intel şirketine yetişmiştir. 1999'da rakibi Intel şirketinden önce 1 GHz bariyerini aşan AMD, 2003 yılında masaüstü sistemler için 64 bit işlemci üreten ilk şirket olmuştur. Yapmakta olduğu yatırımlarla işlemci pazarında pazar payını büyütmektedir. Özellikle masaüstü bilgisayarlar için ürettiği işlemciler son derece büyük rağbet görmektedir. Genel olarak matematiksel işlemler ve grafik (çizge) işlemleri üzerinde yetenekli olan işlemcileri en son AMD Turion 64 serisi ile dizüstü bilgisayarlara da girmeye başlamıştır.
Tarihçe
AMD 1 Mayıs 1969'da Farichild Semiconductor şirketinden ayrılan bir takım tarafından kurulmuştur. Kurucusu ve ilk genel müdürü Jerry Sanders'tir. 2005 itibariyle şireketin yönetim kurulu başkanı Dr. Hector Ruiz'dir. 2006 yazında satın aldığı ATI, şirketin gücünü ve pazarını da genişletmiştir. Şirket, AMD adıyla ürettiği Sempron, Athlon64, AthlonXp, Athlon, Turion, Turion64 X2, Athlon 64 Fx, Athlon64 X2, Opteron, Phenom X4 Phenom II X4 ve Duron işlemcileri ve ATi adıyla ürettiği [Radeon] grafik çipleri (çizge yongaları) ile ünlüdür.
