Garry Kasparov, 13 Nisan 1963’de, Azerbeycan'ın başkenti, Bakü'de dünyaya geldi. Satranç tahtası başında çok küçük yaşlarda aldığı başarılar sayesinde, eski Dünya Şampiyonu Botvinnik'in öğretmenliği altındaki çalışmalara katılma hakkı kazandı. Eski Dünya Şampiyonu Mikhail Botvinnik, "Gelecek, bu genç adamın ellerinde yatıyor." dediğinde, Garry Kasparov henüz 11 yaşındaydı. 13 yaşında, SSCB Gençler Şampiyonu olan ve Fransa'daki 16 yaş altı turnuvada, üçüncülüğü paylaşarak ilk kez ülkesi dışındaki uluslararası turnuvalarda oynamaya başlayan Kasparov, Sovyetler Birliği'ni, o yaşta, Batı'da temsil eden ilk kişidir.
17 yaşında Büyükusta ve 19 yaşındayken de, dünyanın en kuvvetli oyuncusu olan Kasparov, 1985'de, 22 yaşındayken Anatoly Karpov'u yenerek, en genç Dünya Şampiyonu oldu.
Rusyadaki ismiyle "Garik", 16 yaşına geldiğinde, dünya çapında tanınmaya başlamıştı. 1979 yılında, 14 büyük ustanın bulunduğu bir turnuvaya katılma şansı verilen Kasparov, henüz FIDE ratingi çıkarmamış olmasına rağmen turnuvayı açık farkla kazandı ve adını, dünya şampiyonu adayları arasına yazdırarak, çok güçlü bir rakip olduğunun sinyallerini verdi.
Kasparov, 21 yaşındayken, Mikhail Botvinnik’in öğrencilerinden olan, efsanevi Sovyet oyuncu Anotoly Karpov'la, dünya şampiyonluğu için maç yaptı. 5 ay ve 48 oyun süren maç, Dünya Satranç Federasyonu Başkanı Compomanes’in, maçı, galip oyuncu belirlenmeden iptal etmesiyle sona erdi. Bir sonraki yıl, tekrarlanan maçta, Kasparov, Karpov'u yenerek dünya şampiyonu oldu.
1984'den 1990'a kadar, Karpov'la dört kez karşılaşan Kasparov, iptal edilip, Karpov'un ünvanını muhafaza etmesini sağlayan, maçtan sonra, rakibini, arka arkaya oynanan 3 maçta da alt etti.

Programı nasıl çalıştıracağım?
1) Verdiğim linkten "Winboard45b" adlı rar dosyasını indirip bilgisayarımızın uygun bir alanında rar dan çıkarıyoruz.

2) Rardan çıkardığımız dosyayı açtığımızda "Winboard45b.exe" adında bir zip dosyasını görüyoruz ve çift tıklayıp çalıştırıyoruz. Açılan pencerede;

3) Zip dosyasının çıkartılacağı konumu belirlieyip tamam diyoruz.

4) Zip çıkarma işlemi bittiğinde belirlediğimiz konumda "PortableApps" adında oluşacak dosyayı açıyoruz. "Winboard.exe" adındaki uygulama dosyasını çalıştırarak oyunu açıyoruz.
