MİKO THE MONKEY

Miko the monkey lives in the forest. He has a very big family. He lives with his seven brothers and six sisters, his mum and dad, his grandmother and grandfather, and his three aunts and four uncles. What a big family!

But Miko is very unhappy. He is the smallest and youngest monkey in the family. His brothers and sisters laugh at him because he is so small. They swing around in the trees and Miko can’t go as fast. “Ha, ha, ha!” they laugh, as they leave Miko behind.

Miko is very, very small. His brothers and sisters eat all the food. They eat the bananas and fruits and nuts in the forest.
When Miko arrives there is nothing. So he stays very, very small.
Sometimes the monkeys go to the village near the forest to find food. There is a big house near the forest with fruit trees in the garden. The monkeys run into the garden and steal the bananas to have fun! There are also big rambutan trees. Rambutans are red and hairy fruits. Monkeys love them. But Miko gets no bananas or rambutans.

One day there is a bad storm. It rains and rains and rains. Water fills the forest and the monkeys climb up the trees. Miko's family of monkeys must stay in the trees because the water becomes a river. The river goes faster and faster. The monkeys' small piece of forest becomes an island. There is water all around

It rains for six days. The monkeys stay in the trees and eat the fruit in the small forest. After six days there is no more food. After seven days Miko's family is very hungry. There is no food to eat. They must find some.

Miko's big brother Uko thinks he is very brave. He looks at the fast river. He looks at the trees. There is one place where he thinks he can jump the river.

Uko climbs up the big tree near the water. He swings in the tree. He swings towards the tree on the other side of the river. Then he jumps. He reaches for the big branch, but he is too big. He falls into the river.

"Oh, he is falling," cries his mother. But it is too late. The river takes Uko. All the family cries and cries.
"What can we do?" says Miko's father. "We have no food, we will die here."

Miko climbs slowly up the tree. He climbs to the big branch.
He climbs to the treetops to the small branches. He looks down at the river. Then he jumps. He falls but reaches out for a small branch. He catches it. He jumps again. This time he jumps across to the tree on the other side.
"Look!" shout his brothers and sisters. "Look at Miko!"
They smile and clap as Miko climbs down the tree.

Miko looks around. He sees some banana trees and takes the bananas. He throws them across the water to his family.
Then he finds more fruit and throws the fruit across to his family too. The monkeys eat - they are very hungry. Miko spends all day finding food. He is very tired. His family is very happy. Now they are not hungry.

The next day Miko finds more food for all the monkeys. The next day he does the same. After six more days the water goes down and the monkeys can cross from their island.

Now all the monkeys can find their own food and when they look at Miko they smile.
"What a brave little monkey!" they say.

Suddenly they see another monkey. He walks slowly towards them. It is Uko! The family tell Uko about Miko.
"You are a very brave monkey." Says Uko to Miko.

Miko is very tired but very very happy. All the family know he is the bravest monkey… and they never leave him behind again.

CARNİVAL CRİME

Kelly was excited. She was on holiday with her family in a fantastic place – Rio in Brazil. The hotel was wonderful. There was a swimming pool and a garden, and it was near the beach!

Kelly’s brother Steve was excited too. It was carnival time in Rio and that night there was a big party in the street. Everyone had wonderful clothes in different colours – green, blue, red, purple, and even gold and silver.

Kelly and Steve wanted to go to the party but they didn’t have any carnival clothes.
“Let’s go to a shop and buy some costumes,” said Steve.
So they went out of the hotel and into the shopping centre.
All the shops had fantastic clothes. They went into a big shop.

Kelly put on a costume – there was a special jacket, a short skirt, a blue T-shirt, white boots and a cowboy hat. She looked in the mirror.
“Ha ha, you look terrible!” said Steve.

Steve put on a costume – a pair of red and yellow trousers, a green and red spotty shirt, blue shoes, a silly hat and a red nose.
“That’s good! You look like a clown!” said Kelly.

Kelly bought a gold-coloured dress and silver shoes, and Steve bought a superman costume. Now they were ready for the party!

They went back to the hotel. When they arrived they saw a tall, elegant woman in a black dress. She was wearing diamonds on her fingers, on her shoes, on her clothes and in her hair.

"Wow!" said Steve, "Look at her! Who is she?"
"That's Diana Diamond - the famous film star," said the manager.
"The diamonds are famous - they cost thousands of pounds!"

Kelly and Steve went to get ready for the party. At eight o'clock they went to the restaurant with their mum and dad to have dinner. They had steak, chips and salad, and then an enormous ice-cream.

Suddenly they heard someone screaming.
"Oh! My diamonds, my diamonds - they are gone! Gone!"
Diana Diamond ran into the room.
"My diamonds are stolen!" she screamed.

Kelly and Steve went out of the hotel. They saw a man running away with the diamonds. The man had a black cat costume. In the street there were thousands of people wearing colourful costumes. Everybody was dancing and singing. The music was very loud.
Quick!" shouted Kelly, "After him!"

Kelly and Steve ran after the black cat. It was difficult to see him because of the party in the street.
"There he is!" shouted Steve. "He's going towards the mountain!"
The black cat ran faster and faster. Kelly and Steve ran faster too.

Suddenly the black cat stopped. The man fell to the ground. Kelly and Steve sat on the man. The police arrived and took him away to prison. Kelly and Steve took the diamonds back to the hotel and gave them back to Diana Diamond.

"Oh thank you, thank you," she said.
"My wonderful diamonds - I have them back again. You must come to my extra special carnival party on the roof of the hotel."

So they went to the carnival party and watched the fireworks from the roof of the hotel. It was the best carnival party ever!

HAIRYS HENRY HOLİDAY

Hairy Henry is a very nice monster. He is called Hairy Henry because he is very hairy and green. Some people think he is quite handsome for a monster. He is usually very happy but one day last week he was very tired.

"I must have a holiday," he said. "I know, I’ll go and visit my cousin in London!"

So Hairy Henry bought a ticket and packed his bag ready for the holiday.

"Hmm, what shall I take? My passport, a guide book, my camera, my sunglasses, my shorts...that’s enough!"
The next day Hairy Henry arrived at London airport. He got off the plane and took a train to the centre of the city.

"I'll go and find my cousin," said Hairy Henry.

He walked around the city. There were lots of tall buildings and people everywhere. He looked up into the sky and saw Big Ben.

"Ah, that's where he is," said Hairy Henry.

He went to the clock tower and climbed up the stairs. He was very tired when he got to the top. He looked at the clock face. It was five minutes to twelve.

Suddenly a rather round, fat, purple body appeared. It was his cousin Ben. Now some people think that 'Big Ben' is the name of the clock. But we all know that 'Big Ben' is really Hairy Henry's cousin, the Clock Monster.

"Hello," said Ben. "What are you doing here?"
"I'm on holiday," said Hairy Henry.
"Hold on a minute," said Ben.

He banged the huge metal bells twelve times. The noise was horrible. Hairy Henry couldn't hear anything else.

"OK," said Big Ben. "Let's go and see London!"

So Hairy Henry and Ben the Clock Monster went to visit London. First, they took a big, red double-decker bus along the road next to the river.

"Look!" said Hairy Henry, "what's that?"
"That is where we are going," said Big Ben. "Come on!"

It was a huge, round wheel in the sky. It went round and round. People could ride on the wheel and from the top they could see all of London.

Hairy Henry and Ben went to the top of the wheel.
"Wheee..." shouted Hairy Henry. "I can see the river, and the Palace.. and the people look like ants! This is great!"

But then the wheel started to go faster and faster.
"Aaagh! I feel sick."
Hairy Henry was usually a green colour, but now he went very pink. He felt very wobbly.

Suddenly one of the people on the ground looked up.
"Look!" he shouted, "a monster! There's a monster on the London Eye." The people screamed and ran away.

"Come on," said Big Ben. "Let's go. There's lots more to see!
Next, they walked along and came to a museum. It is a very special museum called 'Madame Tussaud's'. It is full of waxworks which are figures of famous people like pop stars, or footballers or Kings and Queens.

Hairy Henry and Big Ben went to visit the Chamber of Famous Monsters. They saw many monsters like dragons and dinosaurs.

Then Hairy Henry was tired so he sat down on a chair. Just then some tourists arrived. They looked at the wax monsters and they looked at Hairy Henry.

"Look at him!" said one tourist. "He looks just like a real monster."
Then Hairy Henry moved.
"Aaagh!" shouted the people. "The monster is alive!"
They ran out of the museum in panic.
"Monster!" they shouted, "it's a monster - run! quick!"

"Okay," said Big Ben. "What's next? Oh, I know! Come on!"
They went on an underground train called a 'tube'. They arrived at a big castle.

"Wow!" said Hairy Henry. "What an enormous castle!"
"We're not going to the castle," said Ben. "We're going under the castle to a special place called a dungeon! It's like a prison."

They went into the dark, damp dungeon. It was cold and smelt horrible. They could hear loud, scary noises like ghosts laughing.
"This is spooky," said Hairy Henry.

Everything was black and red with horrible, ugly faces. Suddenly a woman looked at Hairy Henry. He smiled.
"Aaagh!" she screamed, "it's a ghost - a smiling, green ghost!" and she ran away screaming.
"Aaagh! A ghost! Aaaagh! A monster!"
Come on!" said Big Ben, "that's enough! You scared the people on the London Eye. You scared the people in the museum and you scared the people in the dungeon. Let's go home."

So Big Ben and Hairy Henry went back to Ben's Clock Tower. They had a cup of tea and ate cheese on toast and they talked a lot about all the monsters in their family.

The next day Hairy Henry said goodbye to Big Ben and went home. He felt very tired after his holiday...but being a monster is a tiring business!

Teşekkür ederim, hikayeler hatırlamak ve geliştirmek için çok faydalı oluyorlar..
